Courtney Joy (Wright) Hampton was born on 8.28 and hails from the East side of Baltimore, Maryland. She grew up in a two-parent home with three sisters and one brother, later raised by her mother and was heavily involved in the church. She kept busy with school, extracurricular lessons, activities and heavily socialized with her friends and family. She moved to the surrounding Pittsburgh area in 2006 and after meeting her husband Eric in 2011, getting married in 2016, they settled into Elizabeth Township in 2019. They now have two toddler children and Mrs. Hampton is currently a Homemaker and heart-shaper. The Hampton family has also been a certified foster and adoptive family for over three years for the state of Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Hampton’s education portfolio includes a certification in Culinary Arts (2010), Associates Degree in Restaurant, Hospitality, Travel, Tourism and Lodging Management from C.C.A.C. (2016), a Childcare Certification (2018) and a Domestic Science Degree from Home Governance University (2022). Her work experience includes a lot of work in the field of food service and restaurant management in impoverished and low income, well populated inner-city areas. Mrs. Hampton also worked as a caregiver to many ages and demographics from childcare, adult care, skilled facility care, persons with physical or intellectual disabilities. She has also engaged in a number of entrepreneurial endeavors such as Catering and Childcare and wishes to continue them in the future.

Once Mrs. Hampton began to have children of her own, she made a decision to rear them personally, lovingly, spiritually and intentionally for their first few years of life (or first few years being placed in her home) and so she stopped working outside of the home and became a Homemaker. She has found immense joy in the rearing of kingdom children and believes that the sharpening of arrows (Psalm 127:3-4) is of the upmost importance and a charge she takes personally and one she considers to be part of her family’s mission. Foster care is also at the center of her heart because it's a personal generational curse she wishes to continue to break and to also break the stigmas that surround it from the side of resource families and children in care.

Mrs. Hampton pledged with The Shift in Spring of 2021 and was the recipient of Alpha Iota Alpha’s 2022 Soror of the year. She joined AIA because several of it's core values aligned with her own personal beliefs. Setting out and bringing forth new believers, taking care of and guiding the youth educationally and spiritually and creating bonds of sisterhood through fellowship and servitude are all amazing things that fill her cup and especially when wearing the pink and brown! Currently Mrs. Hampton fills her days with growing spiritually, taking care of her family and pom-chi Romeo, sorority business, growing mentally and physically fitter, socializing with friends and family, stay-cations and spending time with her nine beautiful godchildren.

“The humility and honorable actions that keep us all representing AIA and bond us all together with our faith, love and forgiveness is such a beautiful and blessed thing to be a part of.” - Courtney Hampton aka Safeguard
